Gratifying adj. satisfying, pleasing; The feeling of it was so gratifying.
Persistent adj. continuing, lasting; He was so persistent at asking I had to give in.
Notable adj. worth noticing, important; I finally did something notable today.
Inspire v. to stimulate some creative effort; I was inspired to write a story.
Attention n. to take notice of something or someone; I finally gave attention to the matter.
Acknowledge v. admit the truth of, recognize the importance; He finally acknowledged my existence.
Maturity n. Demonstrating being fully grown reaching, reaching the most advanced part of a process. Maybe I'm finally maturing.
Wearily adv. in a tired way; She trudged home wearily.
Straggled v. hung in messy strands By brother's hair is has always straggled since he made it long.
Fatigue n. physical or mental exhaustion; She was weak with fatigue.
Frail adj. looking weak; He was too frail to even stand up.
Sheepishly adv. in an embarrassed way; He looked at me sheepishly.
Rite of Passage n. a ceremony or event marking an important stage in someone's life. Example: Graduation
Ritual n. a ceremony or custom; I went to a sacred ritual yesterday.
Coming of age story/ bildungsroman n. a genre of literature that focuses on a character's growth from childhood to adulthood. Example: "Red Roses"
Idiom n. a phrase not to be taken literally that is usually only useful in 1 language; It's raining cats and dogs.
Immense adj. very large, big; The elephant was immense compared to the small explorer.
Majestic adj. very grand, dignified; the horse was majestic.
Numerous adj. very many, large numbers; We have numerous brain cells.
Patronized v. treated someone as inferior; He was determined not to be put down or patronized.
Obligations n. debts to someone due to past favors; I felt obliged to help.
Psychological v. of the mind, mental; I am a very psychological person in arguments.
