exposition The introduction to the story that usually reveals the setting the major characters and the conflict
rising action Major events that develop the plot and leads to the climax
climax The event that is the turning point in the story i wish the conflict is usually resolved
falling action the event that begins to conclude the story and leads to the ending
Resolution The events that conclude the story and reveals its message
theme The central message that runs throughout a story
personification giving human characteristic or traits to an animal or non living thing
commentary the reader own interpretation of what is happening within a story. this goes beyond the surface level of the text and can include the reader personal opinions
subplot the secondary plot that happens along with the main plot
hyperbole a type of figurative language that make an exaggerated statement is not mean to be taking literally
foreshadow warning of the future event
nonfiction a type of writing that is based on real event and real people.
central idea the main message a writer want readers to understand from a text
memoir a from of narrative writing written from the perspective of the author about important time in their life
thesis a sentence in the introduction of an essay that state the writer position or opinion on the topic of the essay
