| Infer | To read in between the lines. Using evidence and facts, we come to conclusions on our own that aren't directly stated. |
| Evaluate | To judge. To assess the value of something. |
| Formulate | To create or build |
| Describe | To paint a picture. To explain something so well it can be easily visualized. |
| Support | To back up an idea with evidence, facts, and details from a source. |
| Explain | To teach how. Or to tell why. |
| Summarize | To state what happened in a shorter form. Focuses on key ideas and moments. |
| Compare | To tell how things are alike or similar |
| Contrast | To tell how things are different |
| Predict | To make assumptions or educated guesses about what happens next (in a story, an experiment, or a given situation in life) |
