What is EYLF Outcome 2? Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
What does 2.1 focus on? Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities and understand reciprocal rights and responsibilities.
Example of 2.1 in practice? A child helps set the table for lunch and reminds others to wash their hands, showing responsibility and group participation.
What does 2.2 focus on? Children respond to diversity with respect.
How can educators support 2.2? By including books, songs, and materials that reflect different cultures and encouraging children to share their own traditions.
What does 2.3 focus on? Children become aware of fairness.
Example of 2.3 in action? A child notices another child being left out and invites them to join the game, showing empathy and fairness.
What does 2.4 focus on? Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment.
How can educators promote 2.4? By involving children in recycling, composting, and caring for plants and animals in the learning environment.
