catch on to begin to understand something OR to become popular
go over to review or check something carefully
drop out to stop going to school or leave an activity before finishing
look up to search for information (in a book, online, etc.)
fill out to complete a form by writing information
break down to stop working (for machines), or to become very upset (for people)
sign up to register or join for an activity or service
work out to exercise OR to solve a problem
take on to accept a task, job, or responsibility
find out to learn new information or discover something
turn up to arrive OR to increase the level of something (like volume)
back up to make a copy of important files OR to move backwards OR to support someone
keep up to continue at the same level or speed as someone/something
turn in to give something to someone (like homework) OR to go to bed
