| 1. Anatomical Position | The body is standing erect, facing forward, arms at the sides, with palms facing forward and feet slightly apart. |
| 2. Body Planes | Imaginary lines that divide the body into sections: sagittal, frontal, and transverse. |
| 3. Homeostasis | The body's ability to maintain a stable internal environment despite external changes. |
| 4. Atoms | The smallest unit of matter that retains the properties of an element. |
| 5. Enzymes | Proteins that speed up chemical reactions in the body without being consumed. |
| 6. pH Scale | A measure of acidity or alkalinity, ranging from 0 (acidic) to 14 (basic). |
| 7. Nucleus | The control center of the cell, containing genetic material (DNA). |
| 8. Mitochondria | Organelles responsible for producing energy (ATP) in the cell through cellular respiration. |
| 9. Epithelial Tissue | Tissue that covers body surfaces, lines cavities, and forms glands. |
| 10. Dermis | The deeper layer of skin beneath the epidermis, containing blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. |
