| Element | A substance that can't be broken down into smaller substances |
| Compound | Combinations of different chemical substances that are chemically bonded |
| Solution | A homogeneous mixture of two or more substances |
| The Law of Conservation of Mass | States that mass can't be created or destroyed just changed from one form to another and mass of reactant and mass of product need to be equal |
| Physical Properties | color,density,melting point,and boiling point |
| Chemical Properties | How a substance reacts to other substances |
| Kinetic Energy | Energy of motion |
| Potential Energy | Stored Energy |
| Thermal Energy | Heat |
| Chemical Energy | Energy stored between the bonds of molecules and compounds |
| Electrical Energy | The result of movement from charged particles(particularly electrons) |
| Energy Transfer | The movement of energy from one place or another |
| Energy Transformations | The conversion of one form of energy to another |

| Isoptopes | Atoms of the same element that have a different amount of neutrons |
| Ions | Atoms that lost or gained electrons giving them a net charge |

| Chemical Bonds | The force that holds atoms together in molecules and compounds |
| Electron Configuration | The arrangement of electrons within an atom's energy level |
