feedback loops are processes that help the body maintain homeostasis
Negative Feedback Loop It works to reverse a change and bring the system back to its set point
Positive Feedback Loop amplifies a change instead of reversing it, usually to complete a specific process.
adenosine triphospate (ATP) Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is the primary energy carrier in cells, providing the energy needed for various biological processes.
Macromolecule is a very large molecule, such as a protein, nucleic acid, carbohydrate, or lipid, essential for life and made up of smaller building blocks.
fluid mosaic model describes the structure of cell membranes as a flexible, dynamic layer of lipids and proteins that move laterally, creating a mosaic-like pattern.
endoplasmic reticulum network of membranes in cells that helps synthesize proteins and lipids and transports them throughout the cell.
golgi apparatus organelle that modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids for secretion or delivery to other parts of the cell.
glycogen stored form of glucose found mainly in the liver and muscles, used by the body as a quick source of energy when needed.
enzyme protein that acts as a biological catalyst, speeding up chemical reactions in the body without being consumed in the process.
proteins Proteins are essential macromolecules in anatomy that build and repair tissues, support immune function, and serve as enzymes, hormones, and structural components of cells and organs.
