TermDefinition
denominator The bottom part of a fraction representing the whole.
benchmark A commonly used number that you can use to compare other numbers.
fraction Two quantities written one above the other, that shows how much of a whole is shown.
numerator The top part of a fraction representing a section of the whole
common factor A factor that is shared by two or more given numbers.
equivalent fractions Two or more fractions that name the same part of a whole.
equivalent Having the same value.
mixed number Represents the sum of a whole number and a fraction less than 1
unit fraction Represents one equal part of a whole
