| chondroma | chondr/o cartilage, -oma tumor mass Benign tumor of the cartilage, usually occurring in children and adolescents |
| exostosis | ex- out, oste/o bone, -osis abnormal condition Abnormal condition of bony growth. also called Hyperostosis and osteochondroma |
| leiomyoma | leiomy/o smooth muscle, -oma tumor mass Benign tumor of smooth muscle. The most common leiomyoma is in the uterus and is termed a fibroid. |
| osteoma | oste/o bone, -oma tumor mass Benign bone tumor, usually of compact bone. |
| rhabdomyoma | rhabdomy/o skeletal muscle, -oma tumor mass Benign tumor of striated/voluntary/skeletal muscle. |
| chondrosarcoma | chondr/o cartilage, -sarcoma connective tissue cancer Malignant tumor of cartilage. Occurs most frequently in adults. |
| leiomyosarcoma | leiomy/o smooth muscle, -sarcoma connective tissue cancer Malignant tumor of smooth muscle. Most commonly appearing in the uterus. |
| osteosarcoma | oste/o bone, -sarcoma connective tissue cancer Malignant tumor of bone. Also called Ewing's sarcoma. Most common children's bone cancer. |
| rhabdomyosarcoma | rhabdomy/o skeletal muscle, -sarcoma connective tissue cancer Highly malignant tumor of skeletal muscle. Also called rhabdosarcoma or rhabdomyoblastoma. |
