Layout How the document looks- layout tab located in the ribbon
Center Align Places text in the middle of the line.
Right Align Lines up text with the right side of the page or box.
Left Align Lines up text with the left side of the page or box.
Shift Key Holding the shift key helps make a letter capitalized
Cell The intersection of a row and a cell
How are cells named? Letter (Column) followed by number (row) (A4)
Column A vertical group of cells or text, going up and down.
Row A horizontal group of cells or text, going left to right.
Table Rows and columns used to organize data
Highlight Adds color behind text to make it stand out.
Range A collection of cells
Header At the top of the page and repeats on all pages
Footer At the bottom of the page and repeats on all pages
Text Box A box you can type text into, which can be moved and resized on a page.
Shape fill The color or pattern used to fill the inside of a shape.
Line Spacing The amount of space between lines of text.
Plagiarism Taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as yours
Paraphrasing a rewording of something written or spoken by someone else
Works Cited Listing your sources to give credit when using someone else’s work
Copyright legal right, given to an originator
Cropping Taking a picture and cutting out a part of it
Wrap Text Makes text automatically move to the next line so it fits inside a shape or cell.
Bullets Symbols (like dots or dashes) used to list items clearly.
Formatting To arrange the pictures and text
Font Color The color of the text in a document.
Font Size How big or small the text appears.
Bold Makes the text thicker and darker to stand out.
Underlined Adds a line beneath the text for emphasis.
Italics Slants the text to the right, often used for emphasis or titles.

Email Etiquette The format in which you should type an email nicely
Domain The end of your email which may include, .com , .org , and more
Motive The reason why someone is doing something
Hacking To get the information of someone else without them knowing or cheating
Tab key on the keyboard of a typewriter or computer that is used to move several spaces at a time
Email Subject The short line of text in an email that summarizes the content or purpose of the message; it appears in the recipient's inbox before they open the email.
Cyberbullying The use of digital devices, websites, or social media to intentionally hurt, harass, or threaten someone, often repeatedly.
Digital Drama Conflicts or emotional struggles between people that happen through digital communication, like texting, social media, or messaging apps, often involving misunderstandings or peer pressure.
Digital Citizen A person who uses technology responsibly and ethically, respecting others and following the rules and laws of the digital world.
Animation Pane A tool in presentation software (like Microsoft PowerPoint) that shows the order, timing, and type of animations applied to different objects (text, images, etc.) on a slide.
Addictive design Technology or app features that are purposely created to keep users engaged for long periods, often by triggering habits or emotional responses (e.g., infinite scrolling, notifications).
Feedback loop A system where outputs of a process are fed back into the system as input, influencing future behavior—commonly used in apps or platforms to reinforce user actions (e.g., likes leading to more similar content).
Artificial Intelligence The simulation of human intelligence by computers and machines, allowing them to perform tasks like recognizing speech, making decisions, or solving problems without human intervention.
