elemnts of a plot, simple sub/pred., conjunctions, fragments, and run-ons

climax | high point of the story, most exciting part of a story. |
falling action | things that follow the climax the story starts to wind down |
resolution | final outcome is acheived this is the ending of the story. |
simple subject | subject will never be a prepositional phrase the most impotant word(s) in a complete subject usually noun of pronoun |
simple predicate | one or several words always a verb |
conjunctions | connecting words most common is coordinating conjunctions connects words of groups of words |
list the coordinating conjunctions | for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so |
correlitive conjunctions | conjunctions that are used in pairs |
list the correlitive conjunctions | both...and, either...or, neither...nor, whether...or |
fragments | groups of words that doesnt express a complete thought or doesnt have a subject and a predicate |
run ons | 2 or more sentences that run together without the correct punctuation |
