What is a Metaphor? Compares two different things by saying that one thing is the other

Visual Imagery Descriptive language that creates a vivid picture in the reader's mind by appealing to the sense of sight.
An example of Visual Imagery is... A scarred tree which overlooks the Melbourne Cricket Ground
Allusion Mentions of an object, person or place.
An example of Allusion is... I'm Adam Goodes
Assonance Same or similar vowel sound is repeated
An example of Assonance is.... Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Tone Refers to author's sound in a text!
An example of a sad tone is... I cannot bear his absence anymore
