Math G3 Lesson 30 Shapes & 31 Quadrilaterals

QuestionAnswer
quadrilateral A two-dimensional closed shape with exactly 4 sides and 4 angles.
right angle An angle that measures 90 degrees and looks like the letter L.
rhombus Any quadrilateral with 4 sides that all have equal lengths.
square A quadrilateral with 4 equal sides and 4 right angles.
rectangle A quadrilateral with 4 sides, opposite sides equal and same length and 4 right angles.
triangle A two-dimensional closed shape with 3 sides and 3 angles.
angle The corner where two sides meet.
hexagon A two-dimensional closed shape with 6 sides and 6 angles.
pentagon A two-dimensional closed shape with 5 sides and 5 angles.
attribute Any characteristic of a shape such as its sides, or angles.
parallel Two lines always the same distance apart. Example skis or railroad tracks.
parallelogram A quadrilateral with opposite sides parallel and equal in length.
trapezoid A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
