QuestionAnswer
1. What is velocity? The rate of change of position with respect to time
2. What is speed? how fast an object is moving
3. What is distance? the total length of the path an object travels, regardless of its initial or final position
4. What is energy? ability to do work, which is the ability to exert a force causing displacement of an object
5. What is mass? a measurement that refers to the amount of matter that makes up an object
6. What is gravity? a measurement that refers to the amount of matter that makes up an object
7. What is work? is the transfer of energy by a force acting on an object as it is displaced
8. What is Electricity? is a movement of charge
9. What is Voltage? is the "push" that drives electric current through a circuit, while current is the flow of electric charge
10. What is an Electric field? an electric property associated with each point in space when charge is present in any form
11. What is a Magnetic field? an area around a magnet, moving electric charge, or changing electric field where a magnetic force can be detected
12. What is Static Electricity? it refers to the build-up of electrical charge on an object that does not flow, unlike current electricity
13. What is Current Electricity? the flow of electricity in an electronic circuit, and to the amount of electricity flowing through a circuit
14. What is Force? a push or pull that can cause an object to accelerate
15. What is momentum? a measure of the amount of motion an object possesses
16. What is Acceleration? the rate at which an object's velocity changes over time
17. What is Newton's first law? An object at rest remains at rest, or if in motion, remains in motion at a constant velocity unless acted on by a net external force
18. What is Newton's second law? the force acting on an object is equal to its mass multiplied by its acceleration, expressed as F = ma
19. What is Newton's third law? for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
20. What is an Inelastic collision? a collision where the objects stick together

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
