latent function is the unintended and unrecignized consequence of an element of society
conflict perspective people eho emply this perspective focuse on the forces in society that promote competition and change
interactionist perspective focuses on how individuals interact with one another in society.
symbol anything that presents something else.
symbolic interaction interactionis focuse on how people use symbles when interacting.

Herbert Spencer .took darwins survival of the fitest, also had competition over scarce resources will lead to change.
