chem vocab

QuestionAnswer
scientific method A method in which there is research done. Data is collected and made into a hypothesis, and then the hypothesis is tested.
hypothesis A proposition that gives an explanation for a situation.
dependent variable A variable dependent on another variable.
experimental control A group of experimental subjects that is not exposed to a treatment being investigated so that it can be compared with another experimental groups.
density The quality of being dense.
percent error The deviation from accuracy.
significant figures The digits of the decimal form of a number beginning with the leftmost nonzero digit and extending to the right to include all digits warranted by the accuracy of measuring devices used to obtain the numbers.
