| Term | Definition |

| parallel lines | Lines that never intersect |
| perpendicular lines | Lines that have opposite reciprocal slopes and intersect to form right angles |
| Midpoint | The point halfway between the endpoints of a segment or line |
| Vertex | Common endpoint of an angle |
| Horizontal | Runs left to right |
| Vertical | Runs top to bottom |
| Diagonal | Runs left corner to right corner and vice versa |
| Square | Has four congruent sides and right angles |
| Rectangle | Two sets of opposite parallel sides and four right angles |
| Isoceles Triangle | Has two congruent sides |
| Equilateral Triangle | Has three congruent sides |
| Perimeter | Distance around an object |
| Area | The amount of space inside an object |
