ASHP ( American Society of Health-System Pharmacists) An association of pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians practicing in hospitals and health care systems, Has a significant focus of "advancing the health and well-being" of patients and maintains that optimizing the role of technicians is critical to this goal?
PTCB(Pharmacy Terchnician Certification Board) An organization that offers certification for pharmacy technicians in the United States.
Quality assurance Maintenance of a desired level of quality in a service or product, especially by means of attention to every stage of the process (by adhering to quality control procedures) of delivery or production.
Medication error Any preventable event that may cause or lead to inappropriate medication use or patient harm.
Medication Error prevention Methods used by pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and other allied health professionals to prevent medication errors.
United States Pharmacopeia Convention (USP) An independent organization that strives to ensure the quality, safety, and benefit of medicines and dietary supplements by setting standards and certification processes.
Quality Control (QC) A procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a manufactured product or performed service adheres to a defined set of quality criteria or meets the requirements of the client or customer.
Automated Dispensing System Electronic system used to dispense medications.
Reconsititution or compounding area → preparation of compounds
IV room area → Specially trained personnel prepare aseptic products,
Automated dispensing systems area → Maintain a formulary of stocked items in the ADS,
Emergency or disaster medication supply room → Store antibiotics, maintenance medication, and batteries for public emergency,

CPOE area This area of an institutional pharmacy is where pharmacists perform data-entry and answer questions from other health care workers.
Filling area with pick-up window and pneumatic tube , → Fill orders manually and deliver to requesting department

Narcotics area → Help maintain storage and inventory for controlled substance
