Reference Point a place or object used to see if something is moving
International System of Units (SI) A measurement scientists around the world use to communicate clearly
Instantaneous Speed The rate at which and object is moving at a given time
Velocity Speed in a given direction
Average speed quotient of a total distance by total time
Meter The SI unit of length
Speed The distance an object travels per unit of time
Time (On Graph) Goes on the x axis
Distance (On Graph) Goes on the y axis
Positive Acceleration (On Graph) When line on graph goes up
Negative Acceleration (On Graph) When line on graph goes down
Acceleration Change in speed and/or direction
Slope The steepness of a line on a graph
Rise The vertical difference between any two points on a line
Run The horizontal difference between the same two points as the rise
Motion The speed and direction of an object
Vector Has magnitude/size AND a direction
Scalar ONLY has a magnitude/size
Magnitude Greatness or size
Direction a course along which someone or something moves.
Displacement the moving of something from its place or position.
Acceleration Formula Final Speed-Initial Speed over Time
