Vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
community A group of people living in a particular area. Can be made up of a large or small group of people.
immigration Moving to live in a new country, often with a plan to stay there permanently. People who do this are called immigrants
thrive To do well or be successful. To grow strong and healthy.
native Something is from its original place, like a plant that grows naturally there or a person born in a specific place.
overcome To successfully deal with a problem or difficulty, like winning a game or conquering a fear, by finding a way to get past it.
prejudice Judging someone or a group of people unfairly before you even know them, just because of who they are or what they look like.
vacant Something is empty or unused, like an empty seat or a house nobody lives in.
vow An important promise, like marriage or secrecy.
