08-Fractions

TermDefinition
Denominator The bottom number in a fraction that shows how many equal parts the whole is divided into.
Fraction A way to show a part of something, using two numbers with one on top and one on the bottom.
Improper A fraction where the top number is bigger than or the same as the bottom number, meaning it's more than one whole.
Mixed A number that has a whole number and a fraction together.
Numerator The top number in a fraction that shows how many parts you have.
Proper A fraction where the top number is smaller than the bottom number, meaning it's less than one whole.
Bar The line in a fraction that separates the top number from the bottom number. Also known as a Vinculum.
