| Vocabulry | Definition |

| Diploma | A paper that shows you finished school or a program. |
| Tuition | The money you pay to go to school or college. |
| Resume / CV | A list of your education, jobs, and skills used to apply for school or work. |
| Semester | Half of a school year (about 4-5 months). |
| Associate’s Degree | A college degree that takes about 2 years to finish. |
| Bachelor’s Degree | A college degree that takes about 4 years to finish. |
| Certification | A document that proves you have special skills or training. |
| Master’s Degree | A higher-level college degree after a bachelor’s degree. It takes 1-2 more years. |
| Doctorate Degree | The highest level of college degree. It takes 3-7 more years after a bachelor’s degree. |
| SAT | A test that some high school students take to enter college. |
| GRE | A test that some students take to enter graduate school (after a bachelor’s degree). |
| Scholarship | Money given to students to help pay for school (does not need to be paid back). |
| Freshman | A first-year student in high school or college. |
| Sophomore | A second-year student in high school or college. |
| Junior | A third-year student in high school or college. |
| Senior | A fourth-year student in high school or college (last year). |
