| Algebraic Expressions | An expression that includes at least one variable. |
| Base | A number used as a repeated factor. |
| Coefficient | A number that is multiplied by a variable. |
| Difference | The answer to a subtraction problem. |
| Equivalent Expressions | Expressions that are equal to each other for any values of there vairables. |
| Evaluate | To find the value of a numerical or algebraic expression. |
| Exponent | A number that shows how many times the base is used as a factor. |
| Factor | A number multiplied by another number to find a product. |
| Like Terms | Expressions that have the same variable with the same exponent. |
| Numerical Expression | A mathematical phrase that uses only numbers and operation signs. |
| Order Of Operations | A set of rules which gives the order in which calculations are done in an expression. |
| Product | The answer you get when you divide one number by another; essentially, it's the result of a division problem, |
| Quotient | The answer you get when you divide one number by another; essentially, it's the result of a division problem, |
| Sum | The answer you get when you divide one number by another; essentially, it's the result of a division problem, |
| Terms | The answer you get when you divide one number by another; essentially, it's the result of a division problem, |
| Variable | The answer you get when you divide one number by another; essentially, it's the result of a division problem. |
| Addition Property Of Equality | If you add the same number to both sides of an equation, the two sides will remain equal. |
| Division Property Of Equality | If you divide both sides of an equation by the same nonzero number, the two sides will remain equal. |
| Equation | An algebraic or numerical sentence that shows that two quantities are equal. |
| Identity Property Of Addition | The property that states that when you add zero to a number, the result is that number. |
| Identity Property Of Multiplication | The property that states that the product of any number and 1 is that number. |
| Inequality | A mathematical sentence that contains a symbol. |
| Inverse Operations | Opposite operations, operations that undo each other, such as addition and subtraction or multiplication and division. |
| Multiplication Property Of Equality. | If you multiply both sides of an equation by the same number, the two sides will remain equal. |
| Reciprocal | Two numbers are reciprocals of each other if their product equals 1. |
| Solution Of An Equation | A value that, when substituted for the variable, makes an equation true. |
| Solution Of An Equality | A value that, when an inequality true. |
| Subtraction Property Of An Equality | If you subtract the same number from both sides of an equation, the two sides will remain equal. |
