karl marx (1818-1883) Most influential socialist leader, advocated for a working class revolution as the key for an ideal communist fututre.
labour party (1890's) British working class political party dedicated to reforms and an peaceful transition into socialism
socialism in the united states (Peaked in 1912) A minor political movement with 6% of vote
progressives (1900) Followers of an American politicial movement that advocated for reform measures such as wage and hour regulation
russian revolution of 1905 (1905 lol) Spontaneous rebellion that erupted in Russia after their loss to Japan in 1905. Was suppressed but reforms were made.
caudillos (1800)Military strongmen who seized control of governments
latin american export boom (Second half of the 1800's) Large-scale increase in Latin American exports bc of major improvments in shipping
mexican revolution (190-1920) Long and bloody war where the Mexican middle-lower class revolted to overthrow the dictator
dependent development (1800s) Latin American economic growth which depended on european and north American prosperity.
