PATR means FATHER

| paternal | acting like a father, or on the father's side of the family paternity |
| patron | a rich or important person who helps or supports a person or group; a regular customer |
| patronize | to be a customer; to pretend to be kind to somebody but in a snobby or haughty way that makes them feel bad. |
| patriarch | a male leader of a family or tribe, especially an older, very dignified one, with a lot of authority |
| patriarchy | a family or tribe where the father is the leader and has authority |
| patriot | a person who shows love and loyalty for his or her country |
| patrician | an important person, of high social ranking or status; an aristocrat |
| compatriot | a person who comes from the same person as another, or someone who shares an important common bond |
| expatriate | a person who leaves his or her country to live in another, especially without having loyalty or patriotism to the country being left |
| repatriate | to return to one's home country |
