Geometry

TermDefinition
congruent identical or equal to
line a straight set of points that extends infinitely in both directions, having length but no width, making it a one-dimensional figure
line segment a part of a straight line that is defined by two distinct endpoints
point an exact location in space with no size, meaning it has no length, width, or depth; it only represents a position and is typically visualized as a dot on a diagram
midpoint A point on a line segment that divides it into two equal parts.
segment bisector line segment that intersects another line segment at its midpoint, effectively dividing the original segment into two equal parts
perpendicular bisector a line that intersects a given line segment at a 90-degree angle and divides the segment into two equal parts at its midpoint
angle the figure formed by two rays sharing a common endpoint
right angle an angle that measures exactly 90 degrees, essentially forming a perfect corner, and is often represented by a small square symbol at the vertex of the angle
ray a part of a line that has one fixed endpoint and extends infinitely in one direction
parallel lines two or more lines that are always the same distance apart and never intersect, even if extended infinitely in both directions
perpendicular lines two lines that intersect each other at a 90-degree angle, also known as a right angle; essentially, they meet at a perfect corne
construct to accurately draw a geometric shape, line, or angle using only a compass and straightedge (ruler), without measuring lengths or angles, following specific steps to create the desired figure precisely

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
