ELA Plot Chart Terms

All The Plot Chart terms.

TermDefinition
Plot The sequence of events that make up a story.
Exposition This is at the beginning of a story. Here we find out the setting, character, and conflict.
Characters
Setting Where and when a story takes place.
Conflict The problem in the story.
Rising Action This part of the story begins to develop the conflict.
Climax This is the turning point of the story.
Falling Action The events that lead to the end of the story.
Resolution The conflict is solved and the story ends.
Theme The moral/lesson of the story.
