| Denominator | The number below the bar in a fraction that tells how many equal parts are in the whole or in the group. |
| Numerator | The number above the bar in a fraction that tells how many equal parts of the whole are being considered. |
| Ratio | A comparison of two numbers, a and b that can be written as a fraction. |
| X-Coordinate | The first number in an ordered pair; tells the distance to move right or left from (0,0). |
| Equivalent Ratio | Ratio that name the same comparison. |
| Rate | A ratio that compares two quantities having different units of measure. |
| Unit Rate | A rate expressed so that the second term in the ratio is one unit. |
| Y- Coordinate | The second number in an ordered pair: tells the distance to move up or down from (0,0) |
| Decimal | A number with one or more digits to the right of the decimal point. |
| Equivalent Ratio | Ratio that name the same comparison. |
| Factor | A number multiplied by another number to find a product. |
| Percent | A comparison of a number to 100; percent means "per hundred" |
| Quotient | The number that results from dividing |
| Rate | A ratio that compares two quantities having different unit of measure. |

| Simplest Form | A fraction wis in simplest form when the numerator and denominator have only 1 as a common factor. |

| Common factor | A number that is a factor of two or more numbers. |
| Conversion Factor | A rate in which two quantities are equal ,but use different units. |
