prostate gland A gland in males that contributes to the seminal fluid.
seminal vesicles two small glands that secrete a fluid rich in sugar that nourishes and helps sperm move

breast cancer a carcinoma that develops from the cells of the breast and can spread to adjacent lymph nodes and other body sites
testicular cancer cancer of the testicle, usually occurring in men 15 to 35 years of age
cervical cancer Malignant cell growth in the cervix; can be caused by HPV virus
prostate cancer cancer of the prostate gland, usually occurring in men middle-aged and older
endometriosis Growth of endometrial tissue outside of uterus
Infertility the condition of being unable to reproduce
impotence inability to achieve an erection

Two major functions of the testes 1. production of testosterone 2. production of sperm
uterus (womb) hollow, muscular, pear-shaped organ whose function is to contain the developing fetus

ovarian cycle The 28 days of the menstrual cycle as they apply to events in the ovary. The ovarian cycle has three subphases: the follicular phase, ovulation, and the luteal phase.

Estrogen Female sex hormone
Progesterone A hormone produced by the ovaries which acts with estrogen to bring about the menstral cycle.

Stages of birth 1- Dilation and effacement 2 - delivery and birth 3- Placental expulsion
uterine cancer involves cancerous growth on the lining of the uterus
dilation and effacement of the cervix widening and thinning of the cervix, as uterine contractions become more frequent and powerful, during the first stage of labor
delivery and birth the birth of the baby through the birth canal
placental expulsion • continued uterine contractions cause the placenta to be expelled within 2 to 30 minutes
gonorrhea A sexually transmitted bacterial infection with burning pain when urinating, and a discharge accompanied by thin watery green or yellow discharge and requires a shot of medicine.
HPV (Human Papillomavirus) a virus that can cause genital warts, cervical cancer, or be asymptomatic and is preventable with a vaccine
genital herpes (Herpes Simplex Virus) Sexually transmitted disease caused by the herpes simplex type II virus. that can cause genital herpes, cold sores, and fever blisters.
Chlamydia A bacterial infection that affects causes itching, white ad yellow foul smelling vaginal discharge and oral medicine to treat it.
polycystic ovarian syndrome A hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges.
Syphilis a bacterial STI that can damage the heart, blood vessels, liver, bones, joints, and skin.
Trichomaniasis An STD caused by a Parasitic protozoan , the organism causes infections of the urethra, vagina & bladder and is curable with antibiotics
ovarian cancer cancerous tumor formed within ovary
Hepatitis B A viral STI that can cause liver damage and is preventable with a vaccine.
