Rate - | A ratio that compares two quantities having different units of measure |
Ratios - | A comparison of two numbers, a and b, that can be written as a fraction a/b. |
Unit rate - | A rate expressed so that the second term in the ratio is one unit. |
X-coordinates - | The first number in an ordered pair; tells the distance to move right or left from (0,0) |
Y-coordinates - | The second number in an ordered pair; tells the distance to move up or down from (0,0 |
Decimal - | A number with one or more digits to the right of the decimal point |
Equivalent ratios - | Ratios that name the same comparison |
Factor - | A number multiplied by another number to find a product |
Percent - | A comparison of a number to 100; percent means “per hundred” |
Quotient - | The number that results from dividing |
Rate - | A ratio that compares two quantities having different units of measure |

Simplest form - | A fraction is in simplest form when the numerator and denominator have only 1 as a common factor |
Common Factor- | A number that is a factor of two or more numbers. |
Capacity- | The amount a container can hold. |
Conversion factor- | A rate in which two quantities are equal, but use different units. |
Formula- | A set of symbols that expresses a mathematical rule. |
Square unit - | A unit used to measure area such as square foot (ft2), square meter (m2), and so on. |
Weight - | How heavy an object is. |
