like fractions fractions that have the same denominator
numerator the number above the bar in a fraction that tells how many parts of the whole are being considered
denominator the number below the bar in a fraction that tells how many equal parts are in the whole
simplest form the form of a fraction in which 1 is the only number that can divide evenly into both the numerator and the denominator

variable a letter or a symbol that stands for a number or numbers
