fraction a number that names part of a whole or part of a group
unit fraction a fraction with a numerator of 1
numerator the number above the bar in a fraction that tells how many parts of the whole are being considered
denominator the number below the bar in a fraction that tells how many equal parts are in the whole
equivalent fractions two or more fractions that name the same amount
simplest form the form of a fraction in which 1 is the only number that can divide evenly into both the numerator and the denominator
compare to describe whether numbers are equal to, less than, or greater than each other
order a particular arrangement or placement of things one after the other
mixed number number represented by a whole number and a fraction
improper fraction a fraction greater than one
