The Roaring Twenties

Harlem Renaissance the artistic growth of African American culture centered in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. African American artists, writers, and musicians created works that celebrated African American culture
Langston Hughes one of the leaders of the Harlem Renaissance. Hughes was a poet and writer who's work focused on African American culture and people
Great Migration between 1910 and 1940, many African American people left the south and moved the the north and midwest.
Women's Suffrage Movement Women's fight for the right to vote in America, started in the 1800 and finally succeeded with the ratification of the 19th amendment in 1920
19th Amendment an amendment added to the constitution that gave women the right to vote, ratified on August 18, 1920
