| witnesses | people who see something which has happened, and then tell others (e .g. the police) about it |
| victims | people who are hurt or killed by somebody in a crime |
| murderer | a person who plans and kills another person |
| murder | the crime of killing a person illegally and deliberately |
| evidence | the facts, signs, etc. which tell you who committed a crime |
| suspects | people who are thought to be guilty of a crime |
| solve | to find the correct answer to why something happened |
| prove | to use facts and evidence to show something is true |
| homicide | (an act of) murder - US formal |
| execution | the legal punishment of killing someone |
| casualty | a person injured or killed in a serious accident or war |
