| Common Factor | A number that is a factor of two or more numbers. |
| Dividend | The number that is to be divided into a division problem. |
| Divisor | The number that divides the dividend. |
| Factor | A number multiplied by another number to find a product. |
| Greatest Common Factor (GCF) | The greatest factor that two or more numbers have in common. |
| Least Common Multiple (LCM) | The least number that is a multiple of two or more numbers. |
| Prime Factorization | A number written as the product of all its prime factors. |
| Prime Number | A number that has exactly two factors: 1 and itself. |
| Common Denominator | A common multiple of two or more denominators. |
| Compatible Numbers | Numbers that are easy to compute with mentally. |
| Equivalent Fractions | Fractions that name the same amount or part. |
| Fraction | A number that names a part of a whole or a part of a group. |
| Mixed Number | A number that is made up of a whole number and a fraction. |
| Multiplicative Inverse | A reciprocal of a number that is multiplied by that number resulting in a product of 1. |
| Reciprocal | Two numbers are reciprocals of each other if their products equal 1. |
| Simplest Form | A fraction is in simplest form when the numerator and denominator have only 1 as a common factor. |
| Absolute Value | The distance of an integer from zero on a number line. |
