| Efflorescence | the action or process of developing and unfolding as if coming into flower |
| Enmity | the state or feeling of being actively opposed or hostile to someone or something. |
| Decorous | in keeping with good taste and propriety; polite and restrained. |
| Bastion | a projecting part of a fortification built at an angle to the line of a wall, so as to allow defensive fire in several directions. |
| Hiatus | a pause or gap in a sequence, series, or process. |
| Ebullience | the quality of being cheerful and full of energy; exuberance |
| Recrimination | an accusation in response to one from someone else. |
| Tumult | a commotion of a great crowd; disorder |
| Tirade | a long, angry speech of criticism or accusation |
| oppressive | Unjustly inflicting hardship and constraint, especially on a minority or other subordinate group |
| inscrutable | Impossible to understand or interpret |
| vicissitudes | Changes of circumstances or fortune, typically ones that are unwelcome or unpleasant |
| declivities | Downward slopes |
| tacit | Understood or implied without being stated |
| ludicrous | so foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous. |
| ineffectual | not producing any or the desired effect. |
| jeer | make rude and mocking remarks, typically in a loud voice. |
| inarticulate | unable to speak distinctly or express oneself clearly. |
| leviathan | a very large aquatic creature, especially a whale. (in biblical use) a sea monster, identified in different passages with the whale and the crocodile (e.g. Job 41, Ps. 74:14), and with the Devil (after Isa. 27:1). |
| clamor | a loud and confused noise, especially that of people shouting vehemently. |
| mutinously | in a way that expresses resistance to or revolt against authority |
