TermDefinition
Algorithm a step-by-step solution to solve a problem
Reciprocal Two numbers whose product is one.
Expression A mathematical phrase that contains operations, numbers and/or variables.
Prime number a number times itself. Examples: 2, 3, 5, 7
Ratio A comparison of two quantities by division
Factors Numbers that are multiplied together.
Percent A fraction or a ratio in which the denominator 100
Quantity An amount that can be counted or measured
Integer A member of the set of whole numbers and their opposites.
Rational Number A number that can be written as a fraction (a/b).
Exponent The number that indicates how many times the base is used as a factor.
Order of Operations The rules to be followed when simplifying expressions.
Variable A letter or symbol used to represent a number or quantities that vary.
