1st step in factoring that you cannot forget!!! LOOK FOR GCF!!! (this applies to DOS or Crummy Crummy SOPS as well) 1: negative sign 2: largest # 3: variable ALSO: after u find GCF, make sure you can't GCF it anymore! if you still can, that means you can find a larger number/variable!!!
things to remember (1): 1: make sure if you take out a GCF, make sure to add that # in the beginning of your final answer 2: make sure to use the correct variable in your answer and not always 'x' 3: use correct signs (- or +)
DOS: Ex: x² - 25 1: 2 terms 2: HAS TO BE subtraction 3: both perfect squares D: double ( ) O: opposite signs S: square root BOTH terms
Crummy Crummy SOPS: Crummy: cube root 1st term Crummy: cube root 2nd term S: square 1st term O: opposite term P: product of first parenthesis S: square 2nd term *can be subtraction or addition!!!
If a polynomial has a GCF, then it is _____ __________. not prime ex: 3m^2 - 3 has a GCF of 3, thus, this polynomial is NOT prime
perfect square trinomials: trinomial w/ a perfect square for 'a' & perfect square for 'c', you MIGHT have a perfect square trinomial. try the square roots of 'a' and 'c' as the first set of parentheses and if it doesn't work then go back to the list of factors (womp womp)
FOIL stand for: First Outside Inside Last
other things to remember (2): -make sure to write the GCF in every step of the problem so you don't forget to write it in the final answer -for choose that apply problems, solve all problems; do not just assume something about it

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.

To see how well you know the information, try the Quiz or Test activity.
