Topic Sentence + Claim A general statement to introduce what you are writing about
Detail Sentence This is a detail from the text used to support your answer.
Explain the Detail Sentence This is the sentence used to explain how the detail supports your claim.
Concluding Sentence This is the sentence where you restate your topic sentence and claim to finish out your paragraph.
