---|---|
exponential function | a function whose values is a constant raised to the power of the argument with f(x)=a x b to the power of x |
exponential growth | growth whose rates becomes ever more repid in proportion to the gorwing total number or size b is growth factor growth rate is -1 |
exponential decay | the same are exponential growth |
natural base | Euler's number equivalent to approximately 2.7182818 |
transformations | the movement or shift in shape of a function |
domain | the set of all possible input values for the function |
range | all the output values of a function |
interval of continuity | a function defined at every point on the interval |
interval of increasing | as the input increases, the outputs decrease on the interval |
interval of decreasing | as the inputs increase the outputs decrease on the interval |
horizontal asymptote | a horizontal line that a function approaches but never touches=y |
vertical asymptote | a vertical line that a function approaches but never touches =x |
end behavior | the value a function approaches as x approaches positive or negative infinity |
limit notation | the use of symbol to represent the value a function approaches |
