Heart Murmurs
| Mitral Valve Stenosis | Opening snap w/ mid-diastolic low-pitched rumble; heard @ 5th ICS MCL |
| Mitral valve regurgitation | Holosystolic, continuous blowing high pitched murmur; heard @ 5th ICS MCL |
| Aortic Stenosis | Harsh <> systolic ejection murmur between S1 and S2. Radiates to carotids; heard @ 2nd ICS rightSB |
| Aortic Regurgitation | Diastolic > murmur (soft, blowing, high pitched); heard @ ERbs point (3rd ICS LSB) |
| Tricuspid valve stenosis | Mid-diastolic rumble, Kussmal sign (increased JVD on inspiration); heard @ 4th ICS LSB |
| Constrictive Pericarditis | Kussmal sign (increased JVD on inspiration), pulsus paradoxis, pericardial knock |
| Tricuspid valve regurgitation | Holosystolic murmur; heard @ 5th ICS MCL |
| Pulmonic valve stenosis | Harsh <> systolic ejection type murmur; and widened splitting of S2 that is increased with inspiration; heard @ 2nd ICS LSB |
| Pulmonic valve regurgitation | > diastolic murmur (high pitched); heard @ Erb point (3rd ICS LSB) |
| Atrial Septal defect | Wide, FIXED split of S2; heard @ 2nd ICS LSB |
| Ventricular Septal defect | Harsh Holosystolic murmur (non-fixed splitting of S2); heard @ lower LSB and radiates to lower RSB. |
| Patent Ductus Arteriosis | CONTINUOUS machine-like "humming" murmur; heard @ 2nd ICS LSB (radiates to back). |
| Tetrology of Fallot | Loud systolic ejection murmur with NO splitting of S2; heard @ 2nd ICS LSB. |
