Multiplication

TermDefinition
multiplicative comparison Compare by asking or telling how many times more one amount is than another. (3 times as many)
factor The whole numbers that are multiplied to get a product.
multiplication An operation used to find the total number of items in a given number of equal-sized group.
equation A mathematical sentence with an equal sign. The amount on one side of the equal sign has the same value as the amount on the other side.
unknown The value you need to know to solve a problem.
symbol A character, such as a letter or question mark, that can be used to stand for an unknown number in an equation.
division An operation used to separate items into equal sized groups.l
