| What is the primary difference between Anatomy and Physiology? | Anatomy refers to the study of the structure of the body and its parts. Physiology is the study of the function of theses structures and how they work. |
| What are the basic structural and functional units of life? | Cells are the basic structural and functional units of life. They carry out all the processes necesaary for a organism survival and reproduction. |
| Tissue | A group of similar cells that work together to perform z specific function. The four basic types of tissue are epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissue. |
| Integumentary System | The organ system that protects the body from external damage and includes the skin,hair, nails, and associated glands. |
| Epidermis | The outermost layer of skin, composed primarily of keratinized stratified squamous epithelium, providing a protective barrier. |
| Skeleton | The internal framework of bones and cartilage that supports the body, protects vital organs, and facilities movement. |
| Osteocyte | A mature bone cell that maintains bone tissue and regulates the exchange of materials between the bone and the blood. |
| Skeletal Muscle | A type of muscle tissue that is under voluntary control, responsible for moving bones and facilitating body movements. |
| Myofibril | A long, thread-like structure within a muscle fiber that contains the contractile proteins actin and myosin, essential for muscle contraction. |
| Dermis | The thick layer of living tissue below the epidermis that contains blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, and glands. It provides structural support and nourishment to the skin. |
