Colloquial/colloquialism (kuj-loh-kwee-uhl) Slang or informalities in speech or writing. Should not be used for formal writing.
Coherence Your writing makes sense and I'm able to understand what you're are saying.
Connotation Implied meaning and not the formal meaning of the word
Denotation The literal dictionary definition of a word
Diction Writers word choice
Ethos Appeals to ethics
Euphemism (yoo-fuh-miz-uhm) Words or phrases that are less direct
Hyperbole (Hahy-pur-buh-lee) Figure of speech using deliberate exaggeration or overstatement.
Hypophora Figure of reasoning in which one or more questions are asked and then answered.By one and the same speaker; raising and responding to one’s own question
Imagery Images of things upon the mind using one or more of the five senses.
