| commend | To speak with approval; to praise. To put in the care of. |
| controversy | A public dispute that arouses strong feelings. |
| cordial | Sincerely warm and friendly. |
| dissent | To disagree. The expression of a difference in opinion. |
| earnest | Serious and important; not light and playful. |
| elicit | To draw out or to cause. |
| exhilaration | Excitement; a state of elation. |
| genuine | Real; being what it seems to be. Honest and sincere. |
| hoax | An act intended to fool or decieve others. |
| manipulate | To operate using the hands, especially in a skillful way. To control in a secret or unfair way. |
| recount | To give a detailed account of. A second count, as of the vote in an election. |
| skeptic | A person who is not easy to convince unless positive proof is offered. An attitude of doubt or disbelief. |
