Parts Of Speech

QuestionAnswer
Noun A word that names a person, place, thing, or idea.
Pronoun A word that replaces a noun without specifying a name.
Verb A word that shows action or state of being.
Adjective A word that modifies, or describes, a noun or pronoun.
Adverb A word that modifies a verb, adjective, phrase, or clause by indicating how, where, when, or how much.
Conjunction A word that links other words, phrases, or clauses together (e.g., and, if, or, but).
Interjection Conveys an emotion or surprise (e.g., Wow!).
Preposition A word used to indicate physical or conceptual relationships between other words (e.g., under, between, near, before).
