| Term | Definition |

| Absolute Value | The absolute value of a number is its distance from 0 |
| Opposites | Are numbers that have the same absolute value but have different signs. |
| Integer | Numbers that are consisting of negative integers 0 and positive integers. |
| Additive Inverse | The additive inverse of a number a is its opposite of -a, the sum of the number and its additive inverse is 0. |
| Natural Numbers | The positive integers( whole numbers) 1 2 3 and sometimes 0. |
| Rational Numbers | any number that can be written as a fraction, where both the numerator (the top number) and the denominator (the bottom number) are integers, and the denominator is not equal to zero. |
| Real Numbers | rational numbers like positive and negative integers, fractions, and irrational numbers. |
| Whole Numbers | any positive number that does not include a fractional or decimal part. |
| Repeating Decimals | a decimal fraction in which a figure or group of figures is repeated indefinitely, |
| Terminating Decimals | A terminating decimal is usually defined as a decimal number that contains a finite number of digits after the decimal point. |
