Add -ING to the word clap. clapping
Clapping as an adjective The clapping baby babbled and bounced up and down. clapping = describes the baby
Clapping as a verb The cheerleaders were clapping and chanting during the football game, clapping = action of the cheerleaders
Clapping as a noun My brother's clapping was loud during the dance recital. clapping = what (simple subject)
surprise + ING surpising
gather + ING gathering
locate + ING locating
excite + ING exciting

Thinking as an adjective My thinking brain is exhausted. thinking = describes my brain
