TermDefinition
plot (noun): the sequence of events in a story that are connected by cause and effect
setting (noun) :the time and place where a story takes place, and it's considered a fundamental part of fiction. It can include the physical landscape, climate, weather, and the societal and cultural surroundings
characterization (noun): the way an author describes a character's personality, physical traits, actions, and motivations. It's a way to help readers understand the characters in a story. There is direct and indirect characterization.
conflict (noun ): a problem or struggle that a character faces, and it's a key element of a story
renounced (verb): to give up, refuse, or resign something, usually by making a public declaration
Raucous (adjective) : loud and unpleasant
Insolent (adjective) : boldly rude or disrespectful
solemn (adjective) : not cheerful or smiling
